Current To Be Read Pile

It's been a while since I did a TBR pile over here. There's always plenty hanging around (many were homing dust!). I recently had a bit of a clear out due to nesting and found a few I've yet to start, so I compiled a pile that I'd love to read in the near future.

A couple of these books have been loaned by a friend, we have a system where every now and again we swap a few books that we feel the other would like. It works well as we have similar tastes but also there's a couple that we may not have come across if the other hadn't picked it up - this is always a good thing!

There's a couple of books on my Kindle that I have also been wanting to read, but it's currently in my hospital bag for some reading material if I happen to be at a loose end at that time. Since falling pregnant I've found it difficult to fit in reading like I used to as the evenings are my only time of rest usually; and is currently being used to catch up on TV programmes! (Gilmore Girls and I'm a Celeb!) Also not mentioning how tired I feel once I get to bed so the one chapter a night hasn't been happening either - but I do really miss falling into the story and feeling with the characters. I'm just glad that books don't disappear, they'll be there waiting on my return.

So on my pile we've got:

  • The Quality of Silence by Rosamund Lipton
  • Love Affair by Leslie Kenton
  • Carly's Voice by Arthur Fleischmann with Carly Fleischmann
  • Fly Away Home by Jennifer Weiner
  • The Patchwork Marriage by Jane Green
There's quite a serious undertone to most of these books, but I chucked a few in that were lighter so depending on my fancy I can pick and choose.
Love Affair and Carly's Voice are based on real life memoirs whereas the others are fiction. I'm really looking forward to reading more memoirs as it's always really interesting to read about others lives and how they coped with the difficulties that were thrown at them.

What is currently on your TBR pile?
