Budgeting

These weeks are flying by, I can't believe again, it's the weekend! It's crazy, it's yet another week closer to Christmas (I'm allowing myself to say it since I'm due around that time too *wink wink*) and I'm throwing myself into being organised. I wrote the term dates down on the calendar as soon as they came through and I've been writing up present lists for what we want to buy the boys and another for grandparents. As it always get to November and everyone started chattering in my ear about what to get the boys, what we want, what Chris wants etc so this year it's getting sorted out early!

We've also been talking of budgets what with baby boy arriving at the same time, so we have his things to buy and presents for everyone else as well as the little things like Chris's works secret Santa and the extra festive foods, on top of everyday living - so it's becoming list central over here to work out how to balance it all. Thankfully Chris is in a position where he's paid hourly so therefore he can make up extra hours where it's needed to cover a lot of it, and bless him, he's been hard at it.
I too have been sneaking around on the internet for deals on things I think they'd like and have been scouting out sales in the hope of grabbing a bargain (I of course bought a few baby outfits and found out they were in the Mothercare sale a couple of days later for a few pounds cheaper each - argh!) -  anything that will help us out in the long run!

This week has been pretty busy, it's becoming that time where I'm on the go most of the time and say 'oh I'm so busy' but at the same time I couldn't really tell you exactly what we've been doing! I've had a hospital appointment, midwife and we had a playdate over at ours yesterday. Most of our week is taken over by school runs and pick ups as well as homework (my it's really picked up this year for Fred! Read a little about it over here) then before you know it, it's bedtime again!
Our boys have been through the wars this week, Freddie has hurt himself numerous times on the face, knees and once on the hip this week - one of them on the way to school on Thursday where he said he fell over his own feet, someone's definitely got the clumsy trait going on at the moment! Noah hurt his finger at nursery and also scratched his face twice completely out the blue, I couldn't even say how they happened.. hoping this week leaves less marks on them! (although now Freddie was super excited as at school they did some physical activities and has chosen to take it up after school in club..)

I've been feeling a lot better this week, now that we've got that Autumn feel in the air, I've managed to cool down and I'm enjoying being in my skin again. We're 25 weeks now and I feel I'm growing and growing. There's a definite bump there and he's making his mark on us all. I brought a load of essentials like vests, bibs and moses basket sheets this week so somehow I feel a lot more ready for him! We had a trip to the midwife on Thursday and did the usual tests like dipping wee, asking how sugars are and have a feel of bump before listening to the heartbeat - we actually found it this time (most likely as he was asleep and not jumping around like the time before). I love listening to the heartbeat, it's nice to know if he's okay rather than distressed and she goes 'aww he's perfect' so that was good enough for me! I'm so looking forward to doing my second trimester post soon - weird to think that's only a couple of weeks away as I'll be stepping into the 3rd trimester!!

  1. Poor boys, my two are always getting bumps, bruises and cuts, too. You have a lot to be budgeting for at the moment, it's good to prepare, isn't it? Glad the pregnancy's going so well and you're feeling brighter now, the time is flying by! Thanks for sharing with #WotW

    1. It's horrible isn't it, they're usually not too bad and only have the odd scuff but this week they really have been falling all over the place!
There is a lot to budget for and somehow we're doing okay, judt got to be careful of the extra pennies but I'm thinking we'll be fairly quiet in the coming months only with our wedding anniversary & Chris's birthday before Xmas! Thank you :) xx

  2. Bargains & Budgeting are two of my favourite things it sounds like you are doing a great job with both. Glad it's cooled down a little for you, pregnancy and heat are not a good combination. #WotW

    1. I'm finding starting good and early is really helping! Getting a few bits and pieces here and there slowly builds up! Aw thank you, it really isn't is it? X

  3. Minky is always covered in bumps and bruises and no knowing where half of them come from.
No Christmas is only 3 pay days away, not long really. My budget got totally messed up this month with the car needing some expensive repairs. #WotW

    1. Oh it does make you wonder what is going on don't it? But I think they easily pick them up tumbling over, playing etc but it always makes me wonder what people will think! Ouch! Cars are very expensive, hope you manage to get your budget up and running again in time! X
