February Book Swap

Last month I joined up to a Book Swap, hosted by Jocelyn over at The Reading Residence. I've taken part before, but only just thought to blog my posting and the book I received - Maybe it's down to all these bookish adventures going on?

I went on the hunt for a book for my partner, Suzanne who enjoys modern fiction - which is something I can work with as that is a genre I hold many books. I love being part of something like this, it's exciting hunting for a book and wondering if your partner will have the same thoughts/experiences towards the story as you. I do have that sense of 'but I'm not sure I want to sent my copy' (secret hoarder?) and fear that they've already read it. Ooh!

I wrapped The Husband's Secret by Liane Moriarty, which I found a bit predictable, I figured the 'secret' way before it was revealed which made me feel completely let down. I really enjoyed  it after the secret is out the way, the characters developed more and the ending was good!
I wrote a little note out on a postcard I received in my YooHoo! Mail February box (sneak peak right there!) and sent the book away to Devon!

The next morning, my book arrived from Suzanne and it was this little beauty up above. I can say I've never heard of the book or the author, so I'm extremely excited to read this when it comes round (currently on my tbr pile which is really growing recently!). I get the feeling it's a little mystery fairy tale. The cover is absolutely beautiful!

Have you read either of these?

    1. This is the only one I've read of hers but definitely up for trying another. I think it's because I read a lot in this genre so I could guess it really early on haha. Yes, I'm really looking forward to The Snow Child! :) xx
